~^~ October 6, 1999 ~^~
I celebrated my adoption with members of CPP, the Beatrice Humane Society, and the Golden Retriever Rescue of Lincoln. Some feel like I'm lucky to have found such a good and loving home. My new parents feel like they're lucky to have found such a good and loving dog. The guests started arriving at 2:00 p.m. By the time they'd all arrived there were a total 10 humans and 5 dogs. I had a wonderful time running with the golden retrievers and rough housing with my old friend, Patrick. Prizes (bones with gold stars on them) were given for the best fetch, longest stay, fastest sit, and the best trick. I wasn't too interested in winning prizes. I just wanted to play. All of us dogs, with the exception of a few minor incidences, got along very well. After the contests and prizes were given, party hats were put on and cake was served. All us dogs really gobbled down the special liver cake. After getting our bellies full, we rested comfortably in the grass while my mom opened the packages that people had brought for my welcome. People were very generous and we greatly appreciate it!
