I was put up for adoption shortly following my birth in 1969. My mother was young and (I assume) too young to care for me properly. I was put into foster-care when I was 8 weeks old and finally legally adopted by my foster-parents at 13 months. I was told from the time I was able to understand that I was adopted. Even so, I never felt like an "outsider" in my family or that I didn't belong somehow. For the past several years I have been searching for my biological family to put together the puzzle that is my life.
